Human Resources Generalist

Location: Albuquerque, NM
Job Purpose:
We are currently seeking a full-time, reliable, and multifaceted Human Resources Generalist to manage day-to-day Human Resources administration operations, procedures, and programs. This position is responsible for all Human Resources practices and objectives including but not limited to: departmental development and maintenance, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, benefits, compensation, and employment. The HR Generalist will report to the Vice President and advise company managers about Human Resources issues.
This position requires regular travel in support of off-site employees.
Essential Functions:
- Development and management of a Human Resources department
- Development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines
- Works with managers in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
- Schedules, attends, and participates in administrative staff/company meetings
- Assists with establishing departmental measurements that support Senspex’s strategic goals and objectives
- Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
- Develops and maintains the Human Resources section(s) of the Internet
- Develops and maintains employee-related databases, personnel files and other employee-related, confidential-sensitive documentation
- Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
- Recruitment for all positions
- Develop and update job descriptions and postings for open positions
- Conduct phone interviews, in-person interviews
- Write and present offer letters
- Compliance with regulatory concerns and reporting
- Employee orientation
- Ensure all new hire documentation is completed and recorded
- Conduct orientations
- Employee relations
- Assists with the development of Human Resources polices for Senspex, Inc. with regard to employee relations
- Assist with writing and presenting disciplinary actions and employee counseling
- Assist with all employee terminations and follow-up documentation including unemployment inquiries
- Communicates with management regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws
- Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth
- Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health including benefits administration
- Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs; tracks and posts OSHA-required data and files reports
- Provides day-to-day benefits administration services and assists employees with any claim issues
Develops and schedules benefits orientations and other benefits training - Administers the 401(k) plan and completes yearly compliance reporting
Administers disability and worker’s compensation claims; manages Cobra - Recommends changes in benefits offered
- Develop performance management and improvement systems

- Update employee handbooks as needed
- Company-employee communication
- Compensation administration
- Assists with monitoring Senspex’s wage and salary structure and variable pay systems including bonuses and raises
- Provides competitive market research and prepares pay studies to help establish pay practices and pay bands that help recruit and retain superior staff
- Assist with payroll administration as needed
- Must be able to periodically travel
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and 2+ years experience, preferably with a federal government contractor.
Compensation
Commensurate with experience and education.
Work Environment
Employee will normally be working in a climate-controlled office setting with quiet to moderate noise level with the exception of traveling to extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, and wind).
Physical Demands
Employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and sit or stand for long periods of time.
